Alone in the World
My mom died when I was just a boy, and a few years later my dad died too. My twin sister and I hoped to stay together, but we were placed with different relatives. I lived with my grandmother for a few years—she made me go to church, but I still got into a lot of trouble.
At sixteen, I ran away. I didn’t feel wanted. I became an alcoholic, which led to a life of cheating, stealing, violence, and even murder. I worked on ships for about four years and got into drugs and gambling.
Alone in Prison
On one trip, I killed someone and was sentenced to twenty years for manslaughter. After fourteen years in a Mississippi prison, I was released—but I hadn’t changed. The devil was still my master. As Romans 6:16 says:
“Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves … whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?”
I got into trouble again. Before it happened, a pastor at a Mississippi church urged me to give my life to Christ. I said I’d “wait a while.” But in reality, I was saying “no” to God.
A few days later, after stopping for drinks, I was arrested again—for the same crime.
Alone With Sin
In jail, my relatives begged me to confess. I did, and received my sentence. A preacher visited me and spoke to me about Jesus Christ. I was carrying such a heavy load, I finally decided to give my life to the Lord.
I began reading the Gospel of John. In Acts 16:31, I read:
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved.”
Then I read Acts 3:19:
“Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.”
And Luke 13:3:
“… unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”
I got the message.
Forgiven and Free
As I read God’s Word, a great burden lifted. John 3:16 promised me:
“Whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
There were no restrictions—not based on race, background, or education. Salvation is a free gift.
I accepted Jesus Christ.
Alone No More
Mən tövbəni anladım – sadəcə üzr istəmək deyil, günaha görə əsl kədər. Mən Allahdan bağışlanma dilədim və O məni rədd etmədi (Zəbur 34:18). Mən Məsihdə yeni bir məxluq oldum. Mən həbsxana kamerasında hər cür anlayışı aşan sülh tapdım.
Mən ağalarımı dəyişdim – Şeytandan Xilaskara.
Romalılar 6:23 deyir:
“Çünki günahın əvəzi ölümdür, Allahın bəxşişi isə Rəbbimiz Məsih İsada əbədi həyatdır.”
“Yol, həqiqət və həyat Mənəm. Mənsiz Atanın yanına heç kim gələ bilməz.” — İsa (Yəhya 14:6)
Mənim kimi gözləməyin. İsa deyir:
“Ey bütün yorğunlar və yüklənənlər, Mənim yanıma gəlin, Mən sizə rahatlıq verəcəyəm.” (Matta 11:28) “Əgər Oğul sizi azad edərsə, siz həqiqətən azad olacaqsınız.” (Yəhya 8:36)
Həbsxana kameramdan yazılmışdır.
Dünyəvi gələcəyimin nə olacağını bilmirəm – amma Allahla sülh içindəyəm və Ona tamamilə güvənirəm. Fiziki olaraq qəfəsin arxasında olsam da, mən ruhən azadam.
